Windmill House is a charming country house set in two acres of attractive gardens. It has been sympathetically adapted and extended to provide an elegant, country retreat and still has much of the original feel of a private residence, complimented by the warmth and friendliness of care staff.

The house has several lounges and shared spaces, so it is no surprise that most residents spend a good proportion of their time in company and engaged in activities.

You’ll find residents doing crosswords in the sunny conservatory, taking part in armchair exercise classes, reading newspapers in the lounge or strolling around the garden

Specialities

The gardens are a particular feature of Windmill House, with a scent garden, rose maze, lily pond and orchard (where local apiarists keep bees to supply us with honey). Whether you enjoy gardening yourself or are happy to sit back and enjoy the scenery while you listen to the thwack from the neighbouring cricket field or horses in the field, it’s a blissful setting.

Most ground floor rooms have direct access to the garden, so it’s a natural choice if you enjoy life in the country.
